Valtice (Feldberg) is a town that was part of lower Austria until the 1920’s. The first written record of Valtice (Feldberg) is dated January 10 1193, when Passau Bishop Wolfger exchanged the castel with Wichard from Seefeld dapifer of the Austrian dukes-Valtice then became the hereditary holding of this family. In 1395 the Lichtenstein family took control of the area and owned it until 1945.
